About Me

My name is Jenn Pearson, CD(DONA), I first learned of the wonderful work of doulas while trying to conceive in late 2004.  Little did I know, that would be the start of what would turn out to be a very long and inspiring journey towards becoming a certified birth doula. Shortly after my training I became pregnant and as with many things my children took my full attention, but my heart was still drawn towards birth and the support of expectant families.  In 2011 I retook my DONA training and breastfeeding training as well as perinatal loss training and I became a certified birth doula in 2012 and recertified in 2015.

Since beginning my journey as a doula I have been blessed with the ability to start a family. I have two sons and a daughter, all three were very different birthing experiences.  I was so blessed to have found wonderful care and support for their births and felt even more drawn to be a resource for other families.

Philosophy

I believe that childbirth is a sacred event between a woman, her partner and their child(ren).  Whether they want a fully medicated elective cesarean section or a non-medicated vaginal delivery at home, each birth is special to that family and should be treated as such.

As I work with parents I continue to gain a deeper understanding of the unique way that each person experiences the journey of birth. I  support families preparing & planning for different types of births including home births, hospital births, birth center birth, cesarean births, water births, vaginal births after cesarean (VBAC), birth of twins and others.

As a doula it is my goal to not only be a support to the mother but also her partner(s), often times they are left to fend for themselves and a little gentle guidance or additional information can give the entire family unit a much richer labor and birth experience
